Glittering in Grey

It's been a while since I loved a mani that wasn't a konadicure, but I really like how this layered manicure turned out!

So how did I get all this glittery goodness?  I started with one coat of Barry M "Grey", a dark charcoal creme.  Then I layered one coat of Nubar "Hologram Glitter" over it.  Finally, one coat of Seche Vite really brought out the sparkle!

I know there are a lot of similar pics in this post, but I was trying to capture the multi-coloured holographic glitter in different lighting situations.  I took some photos a bit out of focus because the blurry ones show off the awesomeness of Nubar's "Hologram Glitter".

One more pic. No reason, I just had trouble choosing - and I still have tons more I didn't use!

All images are clickable, so go ahead and click to see the glittering grey manicure close up, and let me know how you like this look.

Have a great weekend, dear readers.

Polka Dots - Konad m79

Orly "Snowcone"
China Glaze "White on White"
Konad designs from IP m79 in "Snowcone" and Konad Special White

Here is a cute pastel konadicure I did last night.  I waited until this morning to take photos, but it wasn't very sunny.  These were taken indoors, beside a window so at least I could use the daylight.

I decided to create an accent nail, which I did in white, using "Snowcone" to stamp the pattern so it would match the other nails which had "Snowcone" as the base colour.  I used the dots from m79 on most of the nails, and then thought the dots, lines and flower pattern on the same plate would pick up the dots and add something extra for the accent nail.

I'm really happy with how this turned out.  Please let me know how you like it, and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Beads & Bows - Konad m76 & m77

Barry M "Mint Green" (2 coats)
Konad designs in Special White

For this konadicure, I used Barry M's "Mint Green" which is a great polish that fits with the pastel trend many polish brands are showing this spring.  (Notice the Barry M green glitter dust in my hand?)

Then I used two designs, one from m76 and the other from m77, since they both featured bows.  I added three little glass balls in the centre of the bows. I found these in the dollar store. I guess they weren't really meant for manicures, because after I applied topcoat to the tiny green beads, the colour seemed to melt off.

I wore this to work today and got a few compliments.  Isn't it fun when people notice your little masterpieces?

I hope you have a great week and that you enjoy this konadicure.  Let me know what you think of it...

South Pacific Blue - Konad S9

Sally Hansen's "Pacific Blue"
Konad S9 pattern in Special White
Orly Bonder b.c. / Seche Vite t.c.

I read about this colour on Nihrida's Blog and was sooooo happy to suddenly spot it at my local Walmart!  Here it is in all its glory!  Application was good and this colour is so wicked....me loves it!

Did my toes to match, but with a different design.  Warm weather = pedi, and pedi = flip flops.  Again, happiness!

If you can find this colour, buy it.  Some of the Xtreme Wear polishes seem watery and lacking in pigment, but this one is a definite winner.  I bought one more that's a bright grass green, and I'm sure I'll get to that one soon.

Hope you enjoy this post, and the rest of the long weekend!

Grassy Green Konadicure - m77

"Grass Slipper"- Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure
Konad m77 in Special Black
Orly Gold Prisma Gloss - glitter over mid-section
Seche Vite t.c. / Orly Bonder b.c.

I found the design didn't quite fill up my thumb so I added some flowers
(can't remember which plate they are from) on the side of each thumb.
See the detail shot below.

I know I used this colour recently, but when I used it last, I didn't get around to stamping any designs on it, so I wanted to give it another go.  I also chose this colour because I was going out of town, and, believe it or not, this colour actually matched all the clothes I was packing.  Why do I have so much slime green clothing???? I don't know.
